We are motivated by God’s love to serve under-privileged children in our community. The ultimate motive of life, the ultimate criteria for work, for the way we relate with one another, the way we serve our clients, or does community work, must be the honor of God. It should be the main criteria for everything we do. To honor God is the most important part of our mission.
We strive never to do anything that dishonors Him. Faith is the foundation upon which the society builds its Biblical moral and ethical standards for social development and cohesion with our stakeholders. Window of Hope will be morally upright and tolerant of one another in irrespective of gender, age, location, race, religion or creed, ethnic origin, sex, disability, language or political affiliation.
Best Interest of the Child
We are putting children’s rights and well-being at the heart of policy making. The Convention on the Rights of the Child states that in each and every decision affecting the child, the various possible solutions must be considered and due weight given to the child’s best interests.
Integrity, Transparency & Honesty
We uphold a code of ethics that instills public trust. We are committed to putting children’s rights and well-being at the core of all our work. We strive to meet the highest ethical standards as laid out in Botswana Child Protection Regulation 2015 and NGO Code of Conduct.
We are accountable to our stakeholders including, government, development partners, beneficiaries, as well as the community at large in all engagement through constant communication. Responsible stewardship of resources; and, commitment to excellence and to maintaining the public trust.
We are responsible for measurable outcomes and the delivery of effective programs and services. The true measure of our success as nonprofits is whether individual lives—and our communities—change for the better as a result of our work. Being mission-focused, producing measurable outcomes, conducting program evaluations, and developing and maintaining sound financial management are important elements of our accountability. We are able to accomplish our missions through the generosity of others. We honor donors’ intentions and restrictions on the use of their gifts, and promote responsible stewardship of the resources they entrust to us for the accomplishment of our work.
Partnership & Participation
We work in partnership. We seek external alliances to enhance our impact on the lives of children and young people and their families.
We are a listening organization. We want the voices of children and young people to be heard, as well as those of people who are working with, and caring for them.
We are constantly redefining our goals, expectations, boundaries, and potential. Our team’s talents and performance vary from person to person. We simply believe that regardless of your talent or performance today, you should want to be better tomorrow. We want teammates that are constantly striving to learn and grow, improving every day.
Everyone is important (equal) regardless of age, gender, ethnic group, religion, sexual orientation or political affiliation. Respect for the worth and dignity of individuals. Respect for pluralism and diversity, inclusiveness and social justice.
